Student Mentoring Program from Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India)
Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) was formed and registered in 1985 by a group of Consulting Civil Engineers in Bangalore. The main object of the association is to encourage and foster the ideals of the profession, to hold conferences/meetings/ seminars for the dissemination of knowledge amongst the civil engineers in particular and the society at large.
The ACCE (I) recognizes, encourages, and rewards individuals and organizations that contribute towards the development of the civil engineering industry. It has instituted an extraordinarily wide range of awards to honor those who excel at different aspects of civil engineering. The organization has instituted awards for the best software package for civil engineering consultancy, innovative structural design, excellence in construction of high rise building, excellence in construction of industrial structure, excellence in construction of highway project, use of construction materials/systems in construction resulting in national savings, and many more.
ACCE[I] is offering student mentoring program (SMP) for students to make them aware of practical challenges involved in design, detailing and execution in construction.
Department of civil engineering has established MOU with ACCE[I], Bangalore as Academic Partners, to offer an elective subject to the students throughout the curriculum. Top consultants from ACCE[I] like President, Mr. Ajit Sabnis and Secretary General, Umesh B. Rao along with their team are visiting department to guide and share their industry experiences to students for successful completion of courses. Presently 104 students from 4th semester and 112 students from 6th semester are offered an elective subject. In addition, technical talks and industrial visits for students are also arranged in association with ACCE[I].
