Participated in the User intraction Meet 2020 conducted by National Remote Sensing Center, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) at Balanagar, Hyderabad on 26th and 27th February 2020. Which is very much helpful in building coordination with the ISRO and their other organization in capacity building in the field of RS and GIS training, data products and availability of Sensors.
Participated in the Two Day National Seminar on “Probabilistic Prediction of Earthquakes and Sustainability of Heritage Structures Under High Seismic Activity” during 24th and 25th of February 2020 organized by Dept. of Civil Engineering, K S School of Engineering and Management, Bengaluru.
Budding Entrepreneurs bootcamp was conducted for 2 days on Jan 27 and 28 by sugam unnati group a division of infosys foundation. Programme was conducted by a lady in her 30s named Daisy mann, who was from Australia. There were in total 9 colleges participated, Civil Engineering students won the First prize for the idea of “BIOMEDICS WHICH WILL FOCUS ON ELDERLY PEOPLE”, it was not just the idea but also explains how to sustain it through revenue and fund generation. It really impressed the jury members from IIM, HYDERABAD. Eighth Semester Students Gaurav Kumar and Hemath Kumar S were participated, we congratulate him and his team for this effort in winning first place.
“An overview of teaching techniques in analysis of determinate structures”. Renowned Experts from Reputed Institutions and Senior faculties from VTU and professors from NIT had been called as resource persons, Around 45 participants attended this residential training programme which enhanced the teaching skills of faculties in Analysis of determinate structures. Ms. Chaya S. Assistant Professor., Department of Civil Engineering has participated and which is held during 13th Jan 2020 to 18th Jan 2020 at Muddenahalli, Chickballapura.
Understand basic concept of structural analysis. Identify the application and characteristics of analysis of different types of arches and cables. Get an exposure to deformation of different structural elements. Ability to idealize and analyse statically determinate and indeterminate structures. Compute the deflection of structural elements by different methods. Determine support moments for beams under different support conditions.
Two faculties of Civil Engineering department, NCET, Mrs. Chaitra D. M. and Mrs. Kavitha N. attended FDP at VTU-HRDC PG center, Muddenahalli, Chickaballapur from 27/01/2020 to 31/01/2020. “An Overview of Teaching Techniques in Design of Steel Structural Elements” Eminent experts from reputed institutions of VTU and also industry consultants had been called as resource persons. Around 50participants attended this training programme which enhanced the teaching skills of faculties in DSS.
Mrs. Vanishree attended one week AICTE-VTU joint training Programme for teachers on ” An overview of teaching techniques in Finite Element Methods ” from 30 Dec 2019 to 3rd Jan 2020 at VTU – HDRC Muddenahalli, Chickkaballapura.
One week Mater training Programme is conducted to improve the Skills in Engineers. Dr. Venkatesh Babu D L. Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, NCET is participated as Resource Person and delivered a talk on “Role of Chemical Admixtures in Concrete Constructions” on 3-02-2020.
