The 5-Day online training presentations by “Dr. V.K. Raina at Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology (NCET)”, Bangalore, which took place on 11, 12, 18, 19 and 20th of August 2021. AICTE has sponsored the event and the event was hosted by NCET for Students and Faculties. The aim of the Programme was to make faculty members and students of AICTE approved institutions empowered through exposure to their talk/visit, thereby making them much more relevant and effective towards Nation building. Over the course of five days event, participants from around the Karnataka state and neighboring states Tamilnadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra were present.
Over the course, speaker, Dr. V.K. Raina has discussed about “
Why do bridges in our part of the world CRACK and DISTRESS much earlier than
in many of the first world countries?, Prestressed Concrete, Equipments, Accessories, Field Issues and Animations, and How to rehabilitated and retrofitted three major bridges in NEPAL”.

While giving overview of the above mentioned topics, speaker has given an insight into lot of things which we couldn’t able to find in any text books and which can only be explained
through the experience of speaker (Dr. V.K. Raina) in practicing those. Speaker has ensured
inclusive and equitable quality topics, through which promoted the learning opportunities.
Speaker insisted the global techniques which needs to be considered for local actions while designing and executing the projects in site. Speaker also highlighted the wrong procedures that are followed in construction industry, and its effects on durability of structures. In overall, 5 sessions were an enlighten topics for all of the faculties and students. All the participants were really thankful for the AICTE-DCP’s scheme through which Dr. Raina is able inspire the faculties and students.

Prof. Sanath Kumar K. R. Participated in the User intraction Meet 2020 conducted by National Remote Sensing Center, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) at Balanagar, Hyderabad on 26th and 27th February 2020. Which is very much helpful in building coordination with the ISRO and their other organization in capacity building in the field of RS and GIS training, data products and availability of Sensors.

Participation in Budding Entrepreneurs Programme conducted by Sugam Unnati on January 27 and 28.

Budding Entrepreneurs bootcamp was conducted for 2 days on Jan 27 and 28 by sugam unnati group a division of infosys foundation. Programme was conducted by a lady in her 30s named Daisy mann, who was from Australia. There were in total 9 colleges participated, Civil Engineering students won the First prize for the idea of “BIOMEDICS WHICH WILL FOCUS ON ELDERLY PEOPLE”, it was not just the idea but also explains how to sustain it through revenue and fund generation. It really impressed the jury members from IIM, HYDERABAD. Eighth Semester Students Gaurav Kumar and Hemath Kumar S were participated, we congratulate him and his team for this effort in winning first place.

“An overview of Teaching Analysis of determinate structures” FDP at Muddenahalli, Chickballapura.

“An overview of teaching techniques in analysis of determinate structures”. Renowned Experts from Reputed Institutions and Senior faculties from VTU and professors from NIT had been called as resource persons, Around 45 participants attended this residential training programme which enhanced the teaching skills of faculties in Analysis of determinate structures. Ms. Chaya S. Assistant Professor., Department of Civil Engineering has participated and which is held during 13th Jan 2020 to 18th Jan 2020 at Muddenahalli, Chickballapura.

 Understand basic concept of structural analysis.
 Identify the application and characteristics of analysis of different types of arches and
cables.
 Get an exposure to deformation of different structural elements.
 Ability to idealize and analyse statically determinate and indeterminate structures.
 Compute the deflection of structural elements by different methods.
 Determine support moments for beams under different support conditions.

Two faculties of Civil Engineering department, NCET, Mrs. Chaitra D. M. and Mrs. Kavitha N. attended FDP at VTU-HRDC PG center, Muddenahalli, Chickaballapur from 27/01/2020 to 31/01/2020. “An Overview of Teaching Techniques in Design of Steel Structural Elements” Eminent experts from reputed institutions of VTU and also industry consultants had been called as resource persons. Around 50participants attended this training programme which enhanced the teaching skills of faculties in DSS.
